In 2018, the Church of the Annunciation made significant improvements to the facilities at its 13-acre Elma campus. The centerpiece to this project was the 700 sq. ft. open air Committal Shelter. This new structure allowed the church to hold funeral services outside in the Church cemetery.

Other upgrades included expansion of the existing cemetery with new landscaping, columbarium niches for cremated remains, and new prayerful and meditative spaces.

“The parish sees the project as a sign of growth and vitality,” said Deacon Jim Jaworski. “The upgrading of our facilities enhances our campus and adds value not only to the parish but also for our neighbors going into the foreseeable future.”

New infrastructure was also part of the project, including a new driveway connecting the existing driveway alongside the school, back to the cemetery, and back around to the parking lot for hearse and pedestrian access to the cemetery. A new playground structure was installed in the courtyard of the school buildings, while new storage buildings and a new pavilion were also added.
